The Old Basketmakers Arms

Previously known as The Basketmakers Arms, c. 1960, this property is now widely accepted as having aspects of its construction that date from the sixteenth century. The oldest parts of the structure are its two exterior projecting bays, the later addition of a large, interior chimney block dividing what was probably an Open Hall House. The first official Landlord was Henley man Thomas Usher, who from 1841 ran it as a beer and lodging house. Thomas left in 1869 and moved to Greys Hill. By the 1880s the Basketmakers Arms was owned by Brakspears, however it wasn't granted a full licence until 1960. The Basketmakers Arms closed its doors for the last time on February 1st 1972 and was subsequently converted into a residence.

Now, this wisteria-clad Grade II listed cottage, located in the heart of Henley-on- Thames, just a few minutes walk from the market square, features convenient off-road parking, a courtyard garden and 3 bedrooms.
