26 Mar Buyers could miss out!
With the recent introduction of the new web portal ‘On the Market’ it is more important than ever for buyers to speak to their local estate agents and to register their requirements to get a clear picture of what properties are for sale.
Phil Booth of Philip Booth Esq Estate Agents in Henley said ‘Most house hunters still don’t realise, properties being marketed are not being shown on all the most popular web portals any more’.
Up until January this year, Rightmove and Zoopla were widely recognised as the two main property portals that estate agents used to promote their properties online. In most cases both portals carried the same properties and that it was largely down to the personal preference of the user, as to which of these two portals was their favourite search tool.
When ‘On the Market’ launched it was a requirement by the web portal operator, that estate agents wishing to promote their properties on this website, had to drop either Rightmove or Zoopla. As a result of this change, buyers whose preference, for example was to search via Zoopla, will not be getting the full picture. This hasn’t been widely publicised.
House hunters will now have to check or register with all three web portals to be sure they are not missing out on anything. With over 90% of buyers using the internet to search for property, many of these buyers are missing out all together because they are searching in the wrong place.
Phil Booth added ‘Using a combination of searching in the local newspaper, on line via the web portals and most importantly registering with your local estate agent, will give you the best chance of finding your dream home’.
